Video Game Corner

I think it's about time we had our first every video game corner. What is that, you ask? It's where I talk about some of my upcoming video game picks for January. Let's start this off simple.

Releasing Tomorrow is the Third Installment of Borderlands 2 Downloadable Content(DLC). So far we have enjoyed Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty and Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage. Both were very excellent in their content released, although I enjoyed Mr. Torgue's much more due to the hilarity of it all.

Coming up we have Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt, which could be very promising. I honestly don't know what to think of it because they don't tell us much about it. However knowing Gearbox it will definitely be worth the time to play it, just like the first two were. For those who haven't seen it yet, here's the trailer for Sir Hammerlock's:

Next we have a little game that I wish I had the money to pick up. Devil May Cry: DMC. I have played Devil May Cry 2-4, and enjoyed all three of those games a lot. It's a great mix of hack and slash, puzzle, and platform with a gritty but humorous story. The games always look super serious but they never seem to take themselves too seriously. At least not when it comes to dialogue and story anyway.

In the first three installments you play as Dante, a Human that is a descendant of demonic entities that are trying to take over(or destroy depending on how you look at it) the Earth. Dante is a badass who is known for his use of Dual Revolvers that magically never run out of ammo Ebony and Ivory, and a massive great sword.

This leads to some interesting game play from the get go, but leaves it open for choice with different weapon options(or even a Guitar if that suits you better). The game play is always fast paced, easy to learn, but hard to master. Without being too difficult the game poses challenges that are possible to get by while also requiring you to use your brain.

This new Devil May Cry, or DMC, is kind of a revamp of the series. You are not the same Dante, as Figure A illustrates. You play as a much younger, much more rough-and-tumble looking Dante. Wielding Ebony and Ivory as well as a Greatsword just like the original. I can't really say too much on the game play for the new one, as I've refrained from watching too much on it due to my want to play it but lack of funds to do just that.

However, I will post the trailer for this new version here. I highly suggest checking it out.

Both Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt, and Devil May Cry: DMC release tomorrow. Monday, January 15th, 2013. Happy Gaming.
