Bill Nye hits it right on the head. Humans as a whole would not be where they are without the choice to seek more than what they have. Many believe that it is better to be safe, and seek what you can get. Tangible goals that are always obtainable.
Perhaps it is better to have intangible goals, things you may not be able to measure or even obtain. What benefits do they give? Well, you're always working towards something better. Even if you never attain that goal, you can live your life knowing that you are seeking something better than you already have.
So many are content to live their lives with just the things that appear to be reachable. Personally, I look for things that are unreachable. Who's to say that it will never happen? Well, I'll never know unless I try.
